How to Spot the Signs

Early detection is critical. Pay attention to consistent changes in these three key areas to help someone you care about.

Physical Signs

  • Bloodshot eyes or abnormal pupil size.
  • Sudden changes in appetite or sleep.
  • Sudden weight fluctuation & poor hygiene.
  • Unusual smells on breath or clothing.

Behavioral Signs

  • Loss of interest in hobbies and school/work.
  • Sudden change in friends and habits.
  • Unexplained need for money or stealing.
  • Engaging in secretive or suspicious behaviors.

Psychological Signs

  • Unexplained changes in personality or attitude.
  • Sudden mood swings or angry outbursts.
  • Appears fearful, anxious, or paranoid.
  • Lack of motivation or appears "spaced out."
